Roomba Carpet Cleaners
iRobot is the company that creates and manufacturers the vacuum cleaner known as the Roomba. Six years ago, it first made its appearance and a year later, there were new models and updates released. Nowadays, there are millions them that have been sold which makes it the most popular and successful robotic carpet cleaner that has been created thus far.
The Accessories
Remote Control - The remote control will grant you the ability to control the carpet cleaner by remote.
Scheduler - The scheduler will grant you the ability to program the carpet cleaner so that it will clean your house on a schedule, even if you aren't going to be at home. The scheduler that this vacuum contains also has the ability to update a Roomba robot that has a pre 2.1 software.
Home Base - The home base is where the vacuum will return for charging automatically.
Virtual Wall - The virtual wall can be used in order to keep the carpet cleaner out of certain areas.
OSMO - the OSMO is a dongle that can be attached to the serial port on the vacuum.
Overall, the Roomba can be described as a disc - it measures thirteen inches in diameter and it is less than four inches in height. There is a rather large contact sensing bumper that is mounted along the front portion of the carpet cleaner and it has an infrared sensor that is located at the very top of the vacuum along the front center. There is also a carrying handle that is fitted to the top of the vacuum as well. Based on the model carpet cleaner known as the Roomba you select, it may or may not come with a single or double infrared transmitter unit.
The models of Roomba that were among the first as well as the second generation are going to need to be told what the actual size of the room is going to be by using three really small buttons, however this is not required on the new generations of the Roomba.
This vacuum is known to operate on nickel metal hydride batteriess that are located internally and they require recharging from a wall plug on a regular basis even though the newer generations of the Roomba have what is known as a home base, which is where they are able to automatically find and then go when they need to go for recharging.
Now, with the new Roomba generations, you have to carry it wherever you want it to start vacuuming and then you press the power button and then press spot, clean or max. At the time that the spot clean or max button is pushed, it is going to pause for maybe a couple of seconds and then it is going to begin working again. The contact bumper that is attached to the machine is also capable of detecting bumping into furniture and walls and the defined virtual walls are going to limit the vacuum from going into areas that aren't desired. You may also like to know that there are four infrared sensors that are located on the bottom of the carpet cleaner that will prevent it from falling off of ledge or falling down the steps.
